Dr. Mark Brewer

Dr. Mark Brewer is a third generation Presbyterian minister. He is also a third generation Coloradoan, who totally loves southern California. Dr. Brewer received his undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences from Colorado State University. It was there he met his lovely wife, Carolyn, while she earned her degree as an Occupational Therapist. They were married in 1978. As life would have it, Mark interned from 1978–1980 at Bel Air Presbyterian Church while he began his Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological seminary. He would receive his Doctor or Ministry also from Fuller in 1994.

Mark and Carolyn have been privileged to lead four large churches across the country. The Brewers were the organizing pastor of two of these. Rev. Brewer organized Cherry Creek Presbyterian in July of 1980. It grew to over five thousand members in the twelve years they were there. Mark accepted the call as Senior Pastor at Ward Presbyterian Church in Detroit Michigan. Dr. Brewer helped relocate the church to a new 100 acre campus. It was in Detroit that his passion for connecting urban and suburban churches grew. In 1994 Mark returned to Denver Colorado and established Colorado Community Church. This was a multi campus church whose sole vision was to transform the city through ministry partnerships. While at Colorado Community Mark launched the nationally syndicated radio magazine “A New Day for America.” He also authored his first book "A Walk into the City" which addressed the issues of cross racial and cross economic relationships. Colorado Community grew to six thousand members.

In 2001 Dr. Brewer accepted the call to become the fourth Senior Pastor of Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. Bel Air is situated in a strategic place in order to impact the entertainment industry as well as greater Los Angeles. Mark authored his second book "Spiritual Intelligence" which takes on the more complex 'Tough Issues' of life Christians have to daily address.

Dr. Brewer has also done formal post graduate work at St. Andrews in Scotland, Denver Conservative Baptist Seminary, Illif Methodist Theological Seminary, and St. Thomas Catholic Seminary.

Mark and Carolyn have three adult children, Vanessa (married to Scott Golembeski), Paul, and Rachel (engaged to Matt Seirignano.) Mark and Carolyn love anything outdoors, great movies, wonderful food, and traveling, and time with family.
